Amaran Movie Review: Telugu audiences have also grown fond of Siva Karthikeyan's films. His previous films like 'Doctor' and 'Don' did well. Some were dubbed but.. they did not play in theaters. They did not seem to matter on OTTs. 'Prince', which was made by a Telugu director, was a big disaster. 'Ayalan', which was supposed to be released for Sankranthi, was put on hold.

Now Siva Karthikeyan has come to the audience with 'Amaran'. Although there are crazy films like 'Lucky Bhaskar' and 'Ka' in Telugu, 'Amaran', which came out as a Diwali gift, created expectations with Sai Pallavi as the heroine and Kamal Haasan as the producer. And did this film match them? Or not? Let's find out through this review:

Amaran Movie Story:

This is a story based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, who sacrificed his life for the security of the country in a militant operation in 2014. In other words, it should be called a biopic. An attempt was made to pay a proper tribute to Mukund from Tamil Nadu through ‘Amaran’.

Mukund Varadarajan (Siva Karthikeyan) is a Chennai native. He meets Rebecca Varghese (Sai Pallavi) in college and they fall in love. The elders do not approve of their marriage, difficulties he faces even joining the army… then he faces terrorists in the Kashmir Valley and then achieves heroic death.

Amaran Movie Analysis:

The emotions in a biopic should be captured correctly, which means the scenes should be natural. The less friction, the better. They are a plus in Amaran. However, the biopic feel is lacking due to the increase in action elements and hero elevations. The first half of Amaran is very good. The dialogues are also impressive. Some scenes seem heartfelt.

But in some places, it feels like regular commercial movies. When it comes to the second half, the action episodes are pushed too much. Heroism is well-developed. But since it is a biopic.. there is a feeling of a little lack of naturalness. If it had been done with a new hero.. it would have been natural.

But because of Siva Karthikeyan's image, it seems that director Rajkumar Periyasamy has sidetracked Mukund's life. The emotion is well-developed in the climax. It is almost tearful. On the other hand, the Kashmir locations have been shot well. The cinematography is very good. The production values are okay.

Actors Performance

Siva Karthikeyan has given the best. The films he has done so far are different, this one is different. With this film, you get the feeling that Siva Karthikeyan is a complete actor. Now, tell me what is new about Sai Pallavi's acting. If you want to do heavy roles like Rebecca Varghese, whether in Tamil or Telugu... Sai Pallavi is the best option. It has been proven once again with 'Amaran'. Rahul Bose, Bhuvan Arora, Geetha Kailash, and others did justice to their respective roles.

Plus points:

First half

Emotional scenes

Shiva Karthikeyan

Sai Pallavi

Production values

Minus points:

Giving more commercial touch

Less naturalness

First half in the second half

Overall.. ‘Amaran’ is a good tribute to Mukund Varadarajan.. but due to the high dose of action, it feels like a regular emotional commercial film. However, this film is worth watching once.
