Unstoppable Venkatesh Balakrishna: In Red One, after Santa Claus is kidnapped, the head of security at the North Pole (Balakrishna) must team up with the world's most infamous bounty hunter (Venkatesh) on an action-packed mission around the globe to save Christmas. The film also stars Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Kiernan Shipka, Lucy Liu, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Nick Kroll, Game of Thrones star Kristofer Hivju, and Oscar-winning actor J. K. Simmons as Santa Claus.
Commenting on the extraordinary streaming success, Amazon MGM’s head of theatrical distribution Kevin Wilson told Variety, “Whether people like it or not, the value of these movies is different for our business model. If we can release these movies in theaters and cover our marketing costs, why wouldn’t we? We’re running a massive marketing campaign that will be paid for before the movie hits streaming.”
