DanDaDan will return with its second season on Crunchyroll and Netflix in July 2025.

Following huge critical and commercial success, the multi-genre anime series DanDaDan will return with its second 2 on Crunchyroll and Netflix in July 2025, as announced after the season 1 finale aired on Thursday. The animation studio Science SARU, known for Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, has revealed a new key visual for the second season. The image focuses on the character Jiji, who is being watched by the enigmatic Evil Eye and includes portraits of classical composers and a kaiju, suggesting that the upcoming storyline will introduce new supernatural elements.

Based on Yukinobu Tatsu’s Shonen Jump Plus manga, the series combines supernatural action and romantic comedy. The director is Fuga Yamashiro, while the soundtrack is by Kensuke Ushio, known for his work on Chainsaw Man. Yukinobu Tatsu previously worked as an assistant to Tatsuki Fujimoto (Chainsaw Man, Fire Punch) and Yuji Kaku (Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku).

DanDaDan follows the adventures of Momo, a high school student from a family of mediums, and Okarun, an occult enthusiast. After Momo saves Okarun from a bullying episode, the two begin to argue about their beliefs: Momo believes in the existence of ghosts but not aliens, while Okarun considers otherwise. This clash of opinions leads to a meeting that challenges their beliefs, involving them in spiritual and paranormal events. In the process, the two teenagers acquire extraordinary powers.

The first season featured a talented voice cast, with Shion Wakayama and Abby Trott voicing Momo in the Japanese and English versions, respectively, and Natsuki Hanae and AJ Beckles voicing Okarun. On Netflix, the Italian dub features the voices of Ilaria Pellicocone, Valeriano Corini, Luna Iansante, and Eleonora Reti, among others.
